Trip Report: Loch Vale / The Gash / Sky Pond ~ 9.12.14 (Dryland)

The Loch Vale never disappoints. While rainy and cloudy on the Front Range, the higher elevations were completely bluebird above the clouds. I included a few comparisons to summer & winter photos, those are always fun. Rocky Mountain National Park saw it’s first dusting of snow overnight, but it quickly melted out returning to near summer conditions. This trip was mainly to scout a few areas up the The Gash and Andrews Creek approach. Also a quick look at the tarn on the Andrews Glacier apron.

This is mainly a photo trip report of dryland scenarios at the Loch Vale falls, The Gash, Upper Loch Vale, Timberline Falls, Sky Pond and Lake of Glass with views up to Taylor Glacier. The next trip I will traverse [dryland] to the Otis Chutes over to Lake Haiyaha and various areas around The Dome, Olympics, and Terrain Park area.
